Sarah’s Beer of the Week 10.20.16

This week I went out to check out a new spot in my ‘hood that boasts a gigantic tap list and beers for sale (takeaway).  It’s not a brewery, but a beer mecca nevertheless.  TeKu Tavern is located on the ground floor of a high rise, and is modern, bright, and fun.  The tap list is indeed gigantic, and they utilize the latest technology to keep the tap list current.  There is a big digital board behind the bar that tells you the beer description, the ABV, and, a symbol that shows you how much of that keg is left.  Once that keg is done, it’s done, and something new takes its place.  There are 50 taps.  There is a LOT of beer.  They also have cider, and something I’d not seen in WA: wine on tap.  There is something for every taste.  And if you’re just looking for something to take home, there are rows and rows of refrigerated beers, with prices that don’t offend you like some duel shops.  There are some really nice touches to this spot, like power and USB outlets to charge your phones/laptops.  To make things even better, the wife and husband team running this place are beer aficionados, excited to share their passion with the community.  They researched beer glasses, styles, sizing and everything in between to make this a premier beer destination.  I highly recommend stopping in to check it out.  The location is right by The Elephant Car Wash; where Aurora meets Denny Way.  You could call it Belltown, South Lake Union, or just the
