Bruce Springsteen must be having a grand time on the road, because he announced eight additional U.S. tour dates. Bruce and the E Street Band will play in a handful of cities for The River Tour following their time in Europe.
Springsteen and the E Street Band head to Europe beginning on May 14 and will stay there for 11 weeks. Their new U.S. dates pick up on August 23 in New Jersey for a double-night run and continue through to Massachusetts on September 14. The band will stop in Chicago, Washington, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, among other cities.
For his initial U.S. run beginning in January, Springsteen and the E Street Band played 37 dates. Just don’t expect them to play in North Carolina, though. Springsteen canceled his show in Greensboro as a way to protest the state’s discriminatory House Bill 2. He even went so far as to warn Detroit about similar legislature their state was considering, and how he hoped to play there once again if it doesn’t pass.
