Red Hot Chili Peppers Drop New Track ‘Dark Necessities,’ Album Details

Red Hot Chili Peppers releases a new track to radio stations this morning titled “Dark Necessities.”

It’s the first single from their forthcoming album, The Getaway, set for release on June 17. It is the first in 25 years not to produced by long-time collaborator, Rick Rubin.

Danger Mouse (Gnarls Barkley) is handling production duties and producer Nigel Godrich (Radiohead) is handling the mix. See tracklist below.

Fans who pre-order the album via the band’s website will receive an instant download of “Dark Necessities.” Also available are Limited edition 180 gram vinyl, lithograph, and cassette single bundled for $59.99 as well as CD and cassette packages.
