Axl Rose is moving forward as AC/DC’s replacement lead singer, and now audio of the band’s rehearsal appears to have surfaced online. A listener in Lisbon, Portugal captured Axl allegedly singing with AC/DC as they practiced. It’s not clear what the rehearsal was for, but the band is slated to perform in the city on May 7.
Axl was officially named as the band’s replacement after original lead singer Brian Johnson had to back out. Johnson received medical advice to stop touring immediately or face permanent hearing loss. AC/DC decided to move forward with the remaining dates on their tour, and auditioned at least the two lead singers from tribute bands Thunderstruck and Back to Black. Ultimately, though, they went with Axl.
The videos posted to YouTube remain focused on the ground, but some kind of rehearsal is definitely taking place in the background. AC/DC goes through “Shoot to Thrill” and “Thunderstruck.” The band picks their tour back up on May 7, and will stay on the road through mid-June.
Axl, meanwhile, will soon hit the road with Gun N’ Roses beginning June 23 in Detroit.
