Stone Temple Pilots may be getting ready to announce the replacement for vocalist Chester Bennington, who left the band in November, 2015 to focus on his multi-platinum band Linkin Park.
In February, STP announced they were conducting an open search to for a new singer and now they’re in the final stages of the decision making process.
“The three of us have chosen and are auditioning some very talented people,” said the band in a statement. “Auditions will start on April 18. We are thrilled to get in a room with each of these very talented individuals.”
Stone Temple Pilots fired their original vocalist Scott Weiland in February, 2013 and Bennington took over three months later. Any chance of Weiland rejoining the band ended December 3, 2015 when he was found dead from a drug overdose.
