If you’ve seen The Replacements on their recent Back by Unpopular Demand tour, you’ve likely noticed a new song in the set, “Whole Foods Blues,” a goofy take on shopping at the beloved market chain. And while the song is hard to imagine as an earnest new song and not just a pleasant diversion in a set from a band that loves pleasant (and unpleasant) diversions.
Still the track might be a sign of things to come. As Billboard notes in an interview with the band’s manager, Darren Hill, a number of new songs have been recorded, and it is just currently unknown what the band intends to do with them.
