Sarah’s Beer of the Week 06.05.14
I drive past the Nickerson Street Saloon all the time, and had never been in, until this week. Matt and I made a last minute decision to pull in and see what it was all about. They have a huge outdoor seating area, a big bar scene inside, and a nice variety on draft. Getting in the summer mind set I ordered Elysian Superfuzz Blood Orange Pale. I worry about fruit beers sometimes, that they may be too sweet. I don’t want a mimosa, or as the Brit’s call it, a Buck’s Fizz. I was quite pleased that it wasn’t overly sweet. It’s almost like a hef without the wheat if that makes any sense. The blood orange is there, but in the nicest hint of a way. The carbonation is pleasant, and the overall taste good and quite refreshing. 5.4%, easy to drink, and will hit the spot for a warm day. Or a day you’ll pretend is warm because you’re ready for the summer. No matter the season I’ll be back to the Nickerson Street Saloon, good times!
