In celebration of the 20th anniversary reissue of Nirvana‘s 1993 album In Utero, Silver Platters in SoDo provided free tattoos to anyone who bought the album — with the help of Three Kings Tattoo.
“Nirvana,” “free” and “tattoo” in the same sentence was all that Gibbons and Tori needed to hear. The two ventured down to SoDo shortly after Tuesday’s show ended to get their hands on a copy of the reissue — and get some more ink! (In case you hadn’t seen, Gibbons proudly wears KZOK on his wrist thanks to a quick session at the Seattle Tattoo Expo last month.)
Much like his experience at the Expo, Gibbons’ ink job went smoothly:
The same cannot be said for Tori, though, unfortunately. T-Sauce was denied access to the ink fountain because she is a wee little one. Apparently you had to be 21 years old to receive the free tattoo.
Upon hearing this, I made a quick call to Tori informing her she had the power to turn that frown upside down. Actually, exactly the opposite of that, in fact. She turned the Nirvana smiley upside down:
21 is just around the corner, kid!
