Seattle Supersonics fans are gathering tonight (Monday May 13th) at Neumo’s on Capitol Hill to let the NBA know how they feel. The league’s Board of Governors, headed by the man who stole the Sonics away from Seattle to become the Oklahoma City Thunder, Clay Bennett, are expected to vote on the relocation of the Sacramento Kings this Wednesday. Seattle-born hedge fund manager Chris Hansen over the weekend upped his offer for the team by $75 million, and offered a “relocation fee” of another $115 million. Will the NBA be able to say no to that much money? Current Kings owners the Maloof Brothers are certainly on the side of the Hansen group.
The Sonics rally starts at 6pm, and is hosted by former Seattle player and restauranteur Shawn “The Reign Man” Kemp. It’s free, but they will be serving adult beverages a-plenty, so you must be 21+!
Musical entertainment tonight includes:
Geo of Blue Scholars
