Ask any drummer who’s the best at that instrument, and they will invariably tell you Zeppelin’s John Bonham, Keith Moon of the Who, or maybe Neil Peart of Rush. But you can only ask one of those three these days, and he’s in the movie to tell you (Along with Deep Purple’s Ian Pace, The Police’s Stewart Copeland, Metallica’s Lars Ulrich, and the E-Street Band’s Max Weinberg): Ginger Baker is rock’s greatest drummer. Baker gained international superstardom as the drummer for Cream and Blind Faith, and is the subject of a raucous new documentary that premiered at the South By Southwest music festival in Austin Texas, snagging the coveted Grand Jury Prize for best documentary: Beware of Mr. Baker has its theatrical premier Wednesday night in Manhattan, but it’s going to be shown at the 2013 Seattle International Film Festival (May 16-June 9th). Advance tickets are already on sale here.
