For those of you unfamiliar with Mudhoney, they’re essentially the band that made the small fishing village of Seattle relevant to headbangers around the globe, and unintentionally sparked the flannel-wearing, nose-piercing revolution known as “grunge.” Folks outside of Seattle didn’t hear to much about Mudhoney on the ol’ MTV when it came to grunge; the spotlight was given to the more radio-friendly Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and Alice in Chains. However, all four members are perfectly content with playing packed clubs filled with rambunctious punkers as opposed to playing for a semi-interested arena audience. The band is still going strong nearly 23 years after its inception right here in Starbucksville.

So do you want to see how it all started? Right after being signed to Sub Pop for a single, “Touch Me I’m Sick,” the band went to Europe to assault ears with its fuzz-heavy, Black Flag-meets-The Stooges repertoire.
