There is a great Vietnamese restaurant in the International District that has opened a new branch near my home.  We were so excited about this we actually went to the grand opening a few months back.  We go on a regular basis for great food, awesome service and nice happy hour deals .  On our last visit to Green Leaf, I ordered a Green Flash West Coast IPA.

This beer packs a bit of a punch at 7.3%.  It also packs a punch with flavor.  Great hops, powerful grapefruit, oh and did I mention the hops.  It’s a solid beer, from a brewery in California with a really good rep.  This beer is impressive.  Shame the booze is so high, as I was limited to two.

I wasn’t sure that a strong hoppy beer would pair well with food, but it did.  In addition to enjoying my beer, I enjoyed some amazing lotus rootlet salad and sugarcane catfish.  Awesome spot, and awesome beer.  I highly recommend them both.
