Do you play in a band, or know someone who does? Have they not quite hit it as big as Jimi Hendrix, Heart, Soundgarden, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, or Alice In Chains and could use a piece of $30,000 in Cash and Prizes?
Guess what? The Muckleshoot Casino Club Galaxy is giving away over $30,000 in Cash and Prizes at it’s Battle of the Puget Sound Bands in August!
Deadline for entry is This Friday! The rules in a nutshell:
- You have to play instruments and/or sing (NO Britany Spears or N’Sync type “tracking” acts allowed).
- Your band or it’s manager must submit a promo package with Bio, High-resolution photo, video (WMV), audio, (MP3), and play list on or before this Friday, July 13th.
- You have to able to fill an hour if selected to play live.
- You have to be of legal drinking age, but…
- Behave! You can’t get wasted before…or during your set.
There are a few other minor details you’ll find along with a downloadable application HERE, but other than that there are no rules! This is supposed to be FUN!
- The first round takes place on the Muckleshoot Casino’s page on The Facebook, with fans voting for their favorite videos. (You’ll find more info and an application there as well)
- The second round takes place live on stage at Club Galaxy at the Muckleshoot Casino over 3 Wednesday nights in August, hosted by one of KZOK’s own sloppy drummers, Scott Vanderpool.
- Over $30,000 in Cash and Prizes will be awarded at the Grand Finale, Friday August 31st on stage at Club Galaxy!
Now get rockin’! For inspiration, here’s a clip from a Battle of the Bands contest from 1981 featuring Agents of Misfortune. They eventually broke up, but their bass player went on to be in a little band called Metallica:
