Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Week: The Snubbed List

The mission statement of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is as follows:

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, Inc. is the nonprofit organization that exists to educate visitors, fans and scholars from around the world about the history and continuing significance of rock and roll music. It carries out this mission through its operation of a world-class museum that collects, preserves, exhibits and interprets this art form and through its library and archives as well as its educational programs.

We take that operative part of their name, the Rock and Roll part, pretty seriously here at KZOK.  While we are appreciative of the cross-genre development of America’s greatest original folk art, we sometimes wonder things like…”What the hell is going on here when disco queens ABBA are being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by two Bee Gees, when this group of artists has been ignored, often repeatedly?

I’ve even included a few influential artists KZOK doesn’t play, but could…as always I’m biased towards PNW artists…Nirvana is eligible next year, Pearl Jam after that.

But certainly there are many more worthy performers not in the RRHOF…we just can’t think of them right now. Feel free to use the comment section to let your voice be heard: Who would you put in the Rock and roll Hall of Fame before ABBA?
