Cameron Crowe has had a busy year, with the release of We Bought A Zoo, and the Pearl Jam doc Twenty. This week on HBO, the premier of The Union which documents Elton John recording and performing with his idol,  Leon Russell.  I idea that hit Elton John when he heard an old Leon Russell song while on vacation turned into a collaboration that also included Bernie Taupin and T. Bone Burnett!

It looks to be a pretty amazing behind the scenes glimpse as only Cameron Crowe does. We get to hear the story, see the collaboration, watch the recording sessions and then see what happens when they both hit the stage live.

The Union premiers Thursday February 4th, at 9pm on HBO.
