The music industry’s answer to the Oscars, The 53rd annual Grammy Awards are this Sunday night on CBS. Here are the good parts to watch for:

The Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance category where the nominees are [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Neil Young[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Paul McCartney[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Robert Plant[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]John Mayer[/lastfm], and a man who doesn’t think he sings very well but we know better it’s just that he’s so damn good on guitar Eric Clapton.

The Best Hard Rock Performance is lousy with old Seattle friends like [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Alice in Chains[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Soundgarden[/lastfm], and [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Them Crooked Vultures[/lastfm] featuring Nirvana’s Dave Grohl, Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age, and John Paul Jones of [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Led Zeppelin[/lastfm].

And the Best Rock Album category is classic-heavy, with Neil Young’s “Le Noise”, [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers[/lastfm]‘ “Mojo”, [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Pearl Jam[/lastfm]‘s “Backspacer”, and “Emotion and Commotion” from [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Jeff Beck[/lastfm]
