Last time they were together was in the mid 80’s, still songs like “You Really Got Me”, “All Day and All of the Night” and “Lola” to name a few can be heard in radio stations all over the country. Now there are rumors that the Kinks might be back. Ray Davies, the frontman of the band, said he is ready of a Kinks comeback and that his brother Dave Davies likes the idea as well.
“The interesting thing is I’ve had e-mails both from Mick [Avory] and Dave about various other subject matters, but I think it will be down to Dave at the end of the day,” Ray told Gigwise. “But he’s gradually coming ’round to it.”The original Kinks lineup included both Davies brothers, as well as Avory on drums and Pete Quaife on bass. Avory remained with the band until 1984 and Quaife, who died earlier this year, left The Kinks in 1969.
