Sadly, On this day in 1977, [lastfm]Led Zeppelin[/lastfm] called off the remainder of their ’77 North American Tour after Robert Plant‘s 6-year-old son Karac died of a respiratory ailment. 2001, [lastfm]Lynyrd Skynyrd [/lastfm]bassist Leon Wilkeson died of heart failure in his Florida home. He was 49, and on this day in 1974, [lastfm]Lynyrd Skynyrd[/lastfm] released “Sweet Home Alabama,” a response to Neil Young‘s dissing of their home state in the song “Southern Man.”
